A Nifty Kitchen Tool - Pampered Chef Apple Wedger
I am a huge fan of Pampered Chef products and one of their great tools is the Apple Wedger. This little gadget basically cores and cuts the apple into 10 pieces all at once. It is so easy to use and cuts the prep time down to seconds! It’s made from stainless steel, is very durable and really easy to clean.
This tool is definitely a must for any household with apple lovers!

Sony Reader - PRS-505 Review
For Valentine’s Day my husband and I decided to get each other a Sony PRS-505 eBook Reader. We were looking at getting the Amazon Kindle but unfortunately the software/programs it uses are not supported here in Canada.
I have to say that I am really pleased with this reader. It is really easy to use and has a lot of great features. I especially like the fact that there are 3 different font sizes to choose from. Another great feature is that you can bookmark your page so it is easy to come back to. I like the fact that it is lightweight and has a slim design which is really easy to hold when reading. There are also two different areas to pick from when turning pages; which is great depending on your hand placement when reading. The display isn’t back-lit, which makes it easy on the eyes for reading.
So, what are the pitfalls you ask? I think that because it only supports books bought through the Sony software and PDF files, this may limit you to how many books you can have access to download. I haven’t run into any problems yet, but that is because I have only downloaded books from the Sony e-library site. I was also a bit disappointed at the fact that the books are pretty much the same price as a book you would buy in the store. One would think that prices of an e-book would be less considering the fact that the production/distribution of these books are virtually cost free.
All in all, I am very happy with this purchase and I look forward to reading many books on this device! I will keep you posted with new pros/cons, should any arise!
This Artichoke Dip Will Get You Invited To Every Party
This Artichoke Dip is a definite crowd pleaser!
- 1 can of artichokes, drained and chopped
- 1 package of cream cheese
- 1-2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup of grated parmesan cheese
In a medium sized bowl, soften the cream cheese for 30 seconds in the microwave, then add the rest of the ingredients and mix together. Transfer mix to a small baking dish and bake in a 400 degree oven for approximately 15 minutes. Serve with tortilla chips and enjoy!
** I usually double the recipe if I am taking this dish to a party as it tends to disappear quite quickly!
Tomboy Tools…A New Way To Party
My husband and I went to the local Home Show in our town and as we were walking past the various booths that were set up I came across this company that has a great idea!
Basically, this company, Tomboy Tools is set up just like Tupperware or Partylite where you invite a consultant into your home and host a party by inviting all your friends and family (the women) over to learn, and of course purchase tools to use for everyday projects. It’s another great way to get women interested in power tools!!
The best part is that if you love pink, you can get all different tools in a pink colour! I am really considering having a party over the summer to check out what this is all about. I will keep you posted!!
